Living in the Greater Los Angeles Area is almost impossible without owning a car. Going to work to and from Downtown Los Angeles or any other center of commerce in the area, such as Century City and Hollywood, can be done mostly by driving instead of mass transportation. The sheer number of freeways that crisscross the five counties that comprise the Southland is proof of how much Californians depend on automobiles.

California, especially Los Angeles and its environs, is known as America’s largest auto market. A lot of auto dealerships selling both brand-new and used cars dot the state from as far north as Crescent City, to deep down south in the San Diego community of San Ysidro. Every year, Detroit’s Big Three automakers and their foreign competitors slug it out to win the entire car market of the state.

However, dealers here in the Southland cannot just offer any type of car to buyers just because Californians love cars. As the most discriminating of car buyers, Californians love to have cars that perfectly fit their lifestyle. Small families or single individuals usually prefer compacts or sedans, while those that have larger families own vans. Those that maintain businesses use a van, a pick-up truck or an SUV.

A typical day in a Westminster used cars dealership is teeming with activity. Some buyers will drop by to check out the models for sale or inquire with dealers regarding the vehicles, their specifications and the financing schemes available for them. Others would try to bring towards them the Law of Attraction by test-driving a vehicle.

Westminster used cars and brand-new cars dealers have survived the recent economic downturn, thanks to the Californians’ love for cars. The same thing can be said about banks and financing companies that are able to survive the crisis and still get high repayment rates from those who availed of auto loans. Buyers do not hesitate about getting a car, as long as they have the means of financing their purchase and getting special deals out of it.

The love for cars is big business in Los Angeles and other places in California. The strong presence of Westminster used cars and brand-new cars dealerships and auto financing companies is proof that there will always be a way to sustain Californians’ love for cars.
